Mary Helen is best known for her work as a founding member of The Rabble, a feminist performance collective that tours nationally and internationally.


Mary Helen was the lead in Joan at the Wuhan Festival in China, played Abel in Cain and Abel for Belvoir and the Substation, and Victor Frankenstein in Frankenstein at the Malthouse to name a few. She is currently developing new works with the collective.


Catherine Hill was impressed by Mary Helen's natural warmth and intelligence when she directed her in Slings and Arrows, a cabaret, at La Mama. Some Happy Day is Mary Helen's feature film debut.
